Giving up your lunch for a day can change the life of another
The Thrift Store Voucher Program is designed to help people get back on their feet quickly by providing free clothing, furniture, and household items.
Thrift store merchandise includes quality furniture such as kitchen tables and chairs, dining sets, end tables, sofas, recliners, and dressers. New and gently used clothing include many name brand tops and bottoms, dresses, and shoes. Household essentials such as dishes, pots and pans, utensils, lamps, and other organizational items allow our clients to establish a home for their family while they transition to a new chapter in their lives.
"Giving up your lunch for a day can change the life of another indefinitely," said Retail Operations Director Lorraine Parisi. "Your donation will assist us in expanding our Voucher Program, which means we can reach more people in need."
All merchandise is donated, so the success of the Thrift Store Voucher Program relies on good quality donations. Those looking to donate are encouraged to donate items they would give a family or friend. The St. Vincent de Paul thrift stores impact not only the people we work with directly but also the larger community as a whole; offering a low-cost, high-quality shopping experience as well as employment and volunteer opportunities.
Donations may be dropped off at the stores during business hours, Monday through Sunday. Free pickup service is available for those who have at least three large pieces of furniture to donate by calling (773) 779-6700. Furniture and household donation guidelines.
