Pope Francis Center
The Ozanam way of building a bridge to a better tomorrow
At the Pope Francis Center, you and your family learn about ways to improve your life. We work with you to find programs that can help you and your family, and find ways to help you achieve your goals.
- Homelessness prevention
- Public benefit applications (LINK, TANF, Medicaid, Obamacare)
- Employment issues
- Immigration referrals
- Landlord issues
- Job readiness
- Financial literacy
- Computer and internet resources
Our goal is to end poverty through systemic change by helping our brothers and sisters who live on the fringe of society. Our efforts begin with assisting them in stabilizing their lives - for it is difficult for one to visualize a future tomorrow if today they have no food to eat nor shelter. This is then followed by individual mentorship to help them find a way to forge ahead and change their own destinies and that of their local communities.
Hours: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday
The Pope Francis Center serves the St. Vincent de Paul Chicago Conferences service areas (ZIP codes 60613, 60618, 60625, 60630, 60631, 60634, 60640, 60641, 60645, 60646, 60656, 60657 and 60659). Those who live outside these ZIP codes are referred to programs closer to their home.
Individuals and families are required to contact a SVdP Conference or our partnering agencies.
Funding for the Pope Francis Center is provided through various grants and the generosity of individual benefactors. The need is great so please take a moment to donate. Financial donations are always needed and greatly appreciated.
